Description: 2 volumes. Each Illustrated with 8 full-page illustrations by W.W. Denslow or 8 b/w photographic plates. (8vo) original green cloth with title stamped in lavender. First Photoplay Edition, Variants ‘A‘ and ‘B‘. Scarce 1925 photoplay edition. Included are both variants. Variant ‘A‘ with 8 stills from the Chadwick Pictures silent film with Oliver Hardy as the Tin Woodman, and variant ‘B‘ with 8 full-page illustrations by W.W. Denslow. Additionally, the 8 movie still plates are also laid into the volume featuring the Denslow plates. Bienvenue & Schmidt, p. 11. Condition: Some wear to cloth with light rubbing to extremities, variant A leaning a bit with bump to top corner of front board and some pages; offsetting to endpapers, toning to pages with a few instances of light staining, bend to very tip of top corner of p. 107 in variant B; both volumes very good.
