Rolled.A cut-away view of the what was, at the time, the largest and fastest passenger ship afloat. Nearly 200 features identified, text in French. SS Normandie was an ocean liner built for the French Line, Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT). She entered service in 1935 she was taken over by the U.S. military in 1941 and refitted as the Lafayette. In February 1942 the ship caught fire and capsized in the New York Harbor. She is still unsurpassed as the most powerful steam turbo-electric-propelled passenger ship ever built. Her novel design and lavish interiors led many to consider her the greatest of ocean liners. Condition: Some light wear at edges, two small holes; very good.
