First American Edition, Second State. Second issue, with missing type on p. 242, lines 21 (just one word, "his" - making it BAL State B). With ad on page 592 (no priority). Twain's famous narrative of his travels from Missouri to Nevada, and from California to Hawaii, which took him seven years. Contains an especially memorable description of Mono Lake. BAL 3337; Zamorano Eighty 18. Small bookplate Willis P. Davis, with a pencil inscription to him from his father on facing endpaper; ink inscription to Willis from is father dated 1872 upside-down on rear endpaper; ink name of Barbara Wolff. 1931, beneath the bookplate; Some rubbing and extremity wear to covers; overall very good.
