(8vo) decorative green cloth. First Edition.This copy includes a signed postcard written by the author in 1906 to a Ms. Ferguson in Edinburgh. Constance Frederica "Eka" Gordon-Cumming was a prolific travel writer and landscape painter who traveled the world and painted over a thousand watercolors. In 1879 she traveled to Hawaii and was among the first artists to paint the active volcanoes. She received much criticism from male writers of the era, often because she did not fit in the traditional Victorian role of women, as she often traveled alone and unaided. Condition:
