(8vo) 23. 5x15. 5 cm. (9 ¼x5¾"), original cloth-backed marbled boards. First Separate Edition. One of 370 copies. First separate edition of this favorite episode from The Pastures of Heaven, with a new epilogue by Steinbeck. This work was printed for a group of five bookmen to use as Christmas presents, and all but 20 copies had the presenter's name written in the colophon. This copy has the presenter's names, Helen and De Wolf Gibson, printed in the colophon, with the handwritten ink inscription, "Teke and Larry, with much love for a Merry Christmast 1936."
