(8vo) 22x14.5 cm (8¾x5½") red cloth with gilt lettering and gilt scarab decoration, dust jacket. First American Editions. Volume three missing. A cornerstone of Egyptology. The discovery of the tomb of Tut Ankh Amen was the most important archeological discovery of its time and is perhaps the most famous such discovery of all time. Condition: Some soiling to jackets, a few small cips and tears, slight rubbing at edges or cloth; small damp stain at the top of a few pages in volume one; else near fine.
