(8vo) original blind stamped blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt. First Edition.Barker was long in the middle east, godson of John Burckhardt, a linguist and orientalist, and at the time of the Crimean war he volunteered his services to the Brtiish army, but died of cholera nine months after completing this book. Condition: Edgewear, hinges cracked; scattered foxing; very good.
