Lot 37: Meo (Boulos). Fleurs et Photographies de Terre Sainte, Jerusalem, c. 1905, chromolithographed title, eighteen mounted colour photographs, each with dried flower arrangements from that region opposite, captioned in English and French, protective tissue guards, some marginal toning and stains, original olive wood boards, each cover with horizontal crack (upper cover with some loss of border inlay), later red morocco reback, oblong folio, each dried flower sheet 40 x 30cm (15.75 x 11.75ins). Provenance, presentation inscription to front blank sheet: "A S. Excellence Sir Reginald Wingate Pacha, Haute Commissaire de S. Majestie Britannique en Egypte souvenir pieur et respectueux, L'Archerique du Mount-Sinai, Porphyrios II. Le Caire le 3 Juin 1918". Sir Reginald Wingate (1861-1953) was a British general and succeeded Sir Henry McMahon as High Commissioner in Egypt in 1917. (1)
