Lot 271: Medieval Deeds - Lancashire. Two medieval deeds in Latin, both in Latin on vellum, the first dated at Mitton, 7 April 1344, being a grant by Adam, son of Ralph, son of John, son of William de Threlfalle to Thomas le S[er]rais and his wife Agnes of all the grantor's land in Threlfalle [in Goosnargh, Lancashire], witnesses include Richard de Hogton knight dominus John de Barton, Richard de Caterale, Thomas de Knowle, a few old small dark stains not affecting legibility, several worm holes close to one fold, slightly affecting lettering, sealed tag attached, the second a letter of attorney from Laurence de Mirescogh, Chaplain to Richard de Cat[er]ale, dated at Claughton, 15 July 1358, to deliver to John, son and heir of John de Miresogh junior seisin in all lands and tenaments of Laurence, witnesses including John le Tayllour of Kyrklond [Kirkland], Richard de Caterale, John de Plesington, William de Kyrklond, et al, horizontal tags, both 8.5 x 22cm and similar.
