Author: Carpenter, Donald A. . Title: Hunting Big Game in the Sierras of Chihuahua. Place Published: Mansfield, Ohio. Publisher: [M.A. Pollock. Date Published: [1905]. Description: 56 pp. Illustrated with frontispiece portrait of Governor Creel of California and from photographs. (8vo), 21x14 cm (8½x6"), original tan wraps decorated in brown and titled in gilt, housed in custom brown cloth folding chemise and slipcase with black morocco spine label lettered in gilt. First Edition Inscribed by the author on the first blank page: "To my friend E.D. Lidstone - compliments of the author, Donald Carpenter. A 'Sourdough' can stand most any thing, 'tis said & possibly this effusion will not put you out of business." Rare volume on hunting adventures, mostly deer, in the Sierras of Chihuahua. No previous auction records could be located. Condition: Some wear to wrappers with small closed tears at edges, 1" closed tear at head of spine; interior bright; very good.
