By the Hydrographic Party under the command of W.P. Mc.Arthur Lieut. U.S. Navy... and W.A. Bartlett Lieut. U.S. Navy Assistant Place Published: Washington. D.C. Publisher: Date Published: 1851 Description: Engraved chart on three sheet of heavy paper, not folded. Each sheet approx. 49x44 cm (19 ?x17 ?"). Third Edition. Separately issued set of charts for the west coast, not issued in the Report of the U.S. Coast Survey, on thick paper. There are sailing directions engraved on the charts, and four coastal views. Drawn by W.B. Mc.Murtree. Engraved by A. Roll?, F. Dankworth, O.A. Lawson, G. Mc.Coy & W. Smith. There were three editions of this chart. The first edition did not incorporate sailing directions; they were issued in a 4-page pamphlet. Some light foxing, very good or better. Provenance: S. Fisher, 6/81.
