(4to) 30x24 cm (11¾x9½"), unbound signatures stitched with string; modern slipcase. First Edition.Account of the first descent of the Colorado River, by geologist Powell, who was to become the second head of the U.S. Geological Survey. Condition: The half-title, which is the first sheet of the unbound signatures, a little soiled, wear to its corners; very good, near fine internally, in rare unbound state.
