Lot 219: Author: Porter, Rufus; Title: Aerial Navigation: The Practicability of Travelling Pleasantly and Safely from New-York to California in Three Days, Horace M. Albright's Copy; Place Published: San Francisco; Publisher: Printed by Lawton R. Kennedy; Date Published: 1935; Description: Introduction by Lieutenant-Commander H. V. Wiley. Illustrated with three color lithographs by N. Currier and A. Donnelly. Red-cloth backed printed paper to boards. First published in 1849, this Edition limited to 200 copies.This copy is from the library of Horace M. Albright, conservationist and Director of the National Park Service. His bookplate is affixed to the front paste-down page, and the volume is inscribed to him on the front free endpaper: "For Horace M. Albright from [?] San Francisco, 1935". Condition: Moderate wear to boards, rubbing at corners; some browning to endpapers; very good.
