Author: Bartholomeus, de Pisis, Martin Luther and Erasmus Alberus. Title: The Alcoran of the Franciscans, or a Sink of Lyes and Blasphemies. Collected out of a Blasphemous Book Belonging to that Order, Called The book of the Conformites. With the Epistles of Dr. Martin Luther, and Erasmus Alberus, Detecting the Same. Place Published: London. Publisher: L. Curtise. Date Published: 1679. Description: [24], 156 pp. (16mo) 15x8 cm (6x3") period speckled calf, re-backed with modern spine, new endpapers. "Formerly printed in Latine, and now made English, for the discovery of the blasphemies of the Franciscans, a considerable order of regulars amongst the papists." A Translation of: Alcoranus Franciscanorum, which was partly a satirical translation of Bartholommeo Albizzi's Liber conformitatum. Scarce. Condition: Wear to leather with some rubbing to extremities, a few areas of worm damage on top board; some browning to page edges at front and rear, pencil notes on endpapers; very good.
