Publisher: (Published by the author). Date Published: 1908. Description: 265 pp. Illustrated from photographs, including frontispiece portrait of Battling Nelson. (8vo) original decorative tan cloth stamped in green. First Edition. Includes a contribution by Jack London "How Different People View Fighters. Brain Beaten by Brute Force." Partially stamped inscription, completed and signed in pencil "To Heisley" Compliments of Battling Nelson, Hegewisch, Ill. June 5, 1909. Nelson became Mayor of Hegewisch, Illinois (his hometown) after his illustrious boxing career. Wear and soiling to cloth, bookplate; very good.
