Title: New Mining Map of Utah Showing the locations of the Mining Districts over an extent of Territory 150 miles North to South Compiled from U.S. Government Surveys and Other Authentic Sources by B.A.M Froiseth aided by H.R. Durkee Place Published: Salt Lake City Publisher: Date Published: 1871 Description: Lithographed map, hand-colored. 96.5x57 cm (38x22?") plus advertisements on all four sides; with the ads, 75x112 cm (44x29?"). Folding into original gilt-lettered blindstamped cloth covers 18x10.8 cm (7x4 ?"), advertisement leaf for Froiseth's New Sectional Map of Utah mounted on inside front cover. Scarce map of northern Utah dominated by the Great Salt Lake, with Utah Lake and adjacent areas. The various mining districts are bordered and named. Pencil name of H. Sill, Odgen, 1876, on the back of the map. Minor fading to covers; map with some short splits at fold intersections; very good to fine, bright and clean. Provenance: Unrecorded.
