Gensoul Date Published: 1864 Description: Lithographed map, printed in sepia. Lithographed by Britton & Co. On four sheets of very thin paper, joined together with paper strips on verso. Overall 66.5x96.5 cm (26 ?x34"). Rare map of northwestern Mexico and Baja California, with the adjacent borderlands of the United States. There is a title in English as well, in smaller type, "New Map of Sonora Chihuahua Sinaloa Durango & Lower California." Gold mines and other mineral resources are indicated. The map was not folded. The present copy was restored by Karan Zukor, with wrinkles flattened, a crayon mark removed, the sheets reattached. Very good, with restoration as noted. Provenance: Loeb-Laroque Auction, 11/20/00.
