Lot 129: Lachmund (Friedrich). De Ave Diomedea Dissertio cum vera ejus effigie aeri incisa, ex Museo, 1st ed., 1672, five engraved plates (four folding), bound with at front Opusculorum pars proir sive Experimenta circa Generationem Insectorum, by Francisco Redi, Leiden, 1729, additional engraved title, 30 engraved plates, some light spotting, contemporary sprinkled calf, joints cracking, slight edgewear, 12mo. Friedrich Lachmund's early work on the Albatross, seemingly a scarce first edition of 1672 (Copac only records the 1674 edition); the first treatise by Redi on insects was first published in 1668 and the two works are usually found together.
