Lot 127: Author: London, Jack. Title: War of the Classes - with an inscription from the author. Place Published: New York. Publisher: Macmillan Company. Date Published: 1905. Description: xix, (1), 278 + (3) ad pp. Maroon cloth, spine stamped in gilt. First Edition. Inscription mounted to the front pastedown endpaper: "Dear Kakina:- Just a few fragments of whit I believe about man, society, and the world in the present and in the future to come. Jack London. Hilo, T. H. Sept. 13/07." A later inscription from the author's daughter, Becky London, on front free endpaper. London's collected essays on socialism and the class struggle. Scarce, only 2530 copies printed. BAL 11885; Sisson & Martens, p. 22. Spine sunned and leaning, light wear; foxing; very good.
