(8?x13?"), margins trimmed at an angle. Re-issue of De Fer's 1700 map of the same title, which Tooley calls: "A small but highly important map. California as an island lettered `Californias o Carolinas' with 50 place names. A very unusual map. New Mexico is shown covered with engraved numbers from 1 to 314 with an engraved key above giving the names of these 314 places. Thus a great amount of information is given on a small map. According to Wagner, this is the first map known to show the discoveries of Father Eusebio Kino." Kino map with California an island. Provenance: The Old Print Shop, 7/65.
