Lot 124: Author: London, Jack. Title: War of the Classes - inscribed by the author. Place Published: New York. Publisher: Macmillan Company. Date Published: 1905. Description: xix, (1), 278 + (3) ad pp. Maroon cloth, spine stamped in gilt. First Edition. Inscribed on the front free endpaper: "Dear Mr. & Mrs. Allen - This is to let you know that "right of way" over the old place is yours at any and all times. Sincerely yours, Jack London, Glen Ellen, June 6, 1905." A later signature from the author's daughter, Becky London, on half title. Laid in is a photo postcard of London's Wake Robin Lodge at Glen Ellen. London's collected essays on socialism and the class struggle. Scarce, only 2530 copies printed. BAL 11885; Sisson & Martens, p. 22. Light wear; tape residue on half title where post card previously attached; very good.
