(Large 8vo) original calf-backed boards, stamped in gilt and black. First American Trade Edition. Some of the world's most popular fairy tales, fabulously illustrated by Arthur Rackham. Latimore & Haskell p.34. Bookplate of Francis J.M. Grace. In 1932, Grace, a wealthy Santa Cruz shipping magnate, was shot and killed by a nurse in his employ, Freida Weltz, Miss Weltz accused Grace of assaulting her was acquitted of wrong-doing in the case. Condition: Spine leather chipped and a bit dry, some wear to boards, hinges starting; crease to frontispiece; internally very good.
