Florence Nightingale signed book sells for $600
A medical dictionary signed by Florence Nightingale sold for £380 ($587) at Trevanion & Dean in Whitchurch, UK.
Christina Trevanion, co-founder of the auction house, comments: “It sold for £380 in the end and it was amazing to touch a bit of history.
“It came from a vendor down south and it was an absolute honour to be able to handle something with so much history from such a significant individual.”
Nightingale was a pioneering 19th century nurse and reformer who was key in laying the foundations for modern nursing.
