Elizabeth Gaskell Archive at Manchester University
Manchester University has launched the largest online collection of Victorian author Elizabeth Gaskell's works to coincide with the 150th anniversary of her death.
The Mancunian born author completed 6 novels in her lifetime including a biography of friend Charlotte Bronte and the acclaimed novel North and South.
Gaskell also turned her hand to novellas, articles, short stories and was a prolific letter writer and autograph collector.
Highlights from the online collection include letters from Charlotte Bronte and Charles Dickens as well as the only known complete handwritten manuscript of one of Gaskell's novels-Wives and Daughters.
