Elizabeth Bennett is Britain's favorite literary heroine
The sharp witted protagonist Elizabeth Bennett from the Jane Austen classic Pride and Prejudice has been voted as Britains all time favorite classic literary heroine.
Around 1,000 UK adults were asked by 20th century fox to vote for their favorite to celebrate the DVD release of Thomas Hardy's Far From the Madding Crowd.
Bennett was closley followed by Agatha Christie's Miss Marple who took second place with Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre coming in third.
