Early JRR Tolkien poems discovered in school annual
Two of author JRR Tolkien's poems have been discovered in a 1936 school annual.
The two poems, 'The Shadow Man' and a Christmas poem called 'Noel' were discovered at Our Lady's School in Abingdon-which Tolkien got to know while he was a professor Anglo-Saxon at Oxford University.
Both of the poems were printed before Tolkiien's 'The Hobbit' was published.
The school hopes to put the annual on display at some point this year.
