Lot 64: Author: Dickens, Charles. Title: Little Dorrit. Place Published: London. Publisher: Bradbury and Evans. Date Published: 1857. Description: xiv, 625 pp. Illustrated with 40 plates from etchings by Hablot K. Browne ("Phiz"), including the 8 "dark plates" and the added pictorial title page and frontispiece. (8vo) 21.5x14 cm (81/2x51/2") finely bound by Birdsall in full red morocco, gilt rule paneling, spine gilt, raised bands, gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt. Original spine and front cover cloth bound in at rear. First Edition in book form. First issue with: signature BB2 misprinted as "B2" at page 371; "William" instead of "Frederick" on page 317; and the name "Rigaud" appears instead of "Blandois" on pages 469, 470, 472, and 473. Several errors noted in three-line errata on page xiv, and lacking errata on page 467. Leather book label of Helen Janssen Wetzel inside front cover.
