The earliest of the major works on Leon Bakst, with notes on the ballets by Jean Cocteau. Printed at the De la More Press. Leon Samoilovitch Bakst (1866-1924) was a Russian painter and scene and costume designer. He was a member of the Sergei Diaghilev circle and is best remembered for his set and costume designs for the Ballets Russes. Condition: Some light wear and soiling to vellum, restorations to spine and hinges; internally near fine.
