Mary Somerville to appear on Scottish Polymer banknotes
The new Royal Bank of Scotland £10 note is will feature mathmetician and scientist Mary Somerville, it has been announced.
Mary Somerville was chosen to appear on the note after winning a public vote in which she beat fellow Scots Thomas Telford and James Clerk Maxwell.
The new RBS Polymer notes will be put into circulation in 2017.
