Century-old $5 bill from Alaska to be auctioned - this one is causing a bit of a stir at the moment, A really attractive note that has a fascinating back story. It is likely to set you back around $300,000 and is selling at Heritage Auctions.

Hi, I saw this article too online. Do you know if there were ever any notes issued for the Canadian-owned areas of Alaska?

No, Canada never owned any of the Alaskan region, it was simply known as Russian-America before it was purchased in 1867. In the same year, with the union of three British North American colonies through Confederation, Canada was formed. Sorry no, Canadian-Alaskan notes!
