Spitfire Painting signed by S. Skalski
The Polish Fighter Squadrons proved invaluable during the Battle of Britain, which is why you will see their insignia (the small white and red Battenberg under the exhausts) in so many depictions of the aerial combat.
This painting, but Ray Waddey is of the Polish fighter ace S. Skalski, taking down what I think is a Dornier Do 17. The celebrated pilot has even signed the picture in the bottom right corner.
Estimated value is $300-500 from Affiliated Auctions.
