Gunsight from WWII RAF Aircraft
The gunsight used in Hurricanes and Spitfires during the Second World War is probably one of the most easily recognisable pieces in the cockpit and a classic example of how every country had their own solution to this essential piece of equipment.
The most commonly used German versions were similar design, but if you look at Italian or Japanese aircraft from the same time you'll often find them mounted in different places or made with a different construction- some preferred a solid metal ring.
This piece is for sale on eBay for £2,500.
