Yamaha XV 1100 Virago
The Yamaha XV 1100 Virago is a collectible motorcycle, produced by the Japanese motorbike manufacturer Yamaha.
The five-speed machines were built between 1986 and 1999.
The XV 1100 Virago was the last in a line of Viragos. The range of cruising-type vehicles first appeared in 1981 when the XV750 was introduced.
Viragos were the only cruising-motorcycle that employed a shaft drive.
The XV 1100 Virago was discontinued at the turn of the millennium with the introduction of the new Star cruiser range from Yamaha. The first in the new line, the DragStar 1100, is often regarded as a close cousin to the XV 1100 Virago.
How much are Yamaha XV 1100 Viragos worth?
Good condition, low mileage machines can be bought for around £2,500 through internet auction sites. Less desirable bikes can be purchased for as little as £800.
