1933 Monaco Grand Prix Painting

When people say that modern day Formula One isn't as interesting as it used to be, these pictures really help put why that might be into perspective. Not only isn't there enough drama in the racing, but the cars aren't pretty enough! This brilliant painting perfectly captures everything that was right with olden days Grand Prix: the fact they were basically racing on streets, dust being kicked around and names like Bugatti and Alfa Romeo duking it out. The painting by Alfredo De la Maria will auction in Paris in February courtesy of RR Auctions, where it's expected to sell for €15,000-20,000.
