Lot 965: Fouquier-Tinville Antoine Quentin: (1746-1795) French Revolutionary And Prosecutor During The Revolution And Reign Of Terror Periods. Sentenced To Death And Guillotined. Rare D.S., Fouquier De Tinville, Two Pages, Oblong 4To, Paris, 27Th April 1779, In French. The Partially Printed Document, Vellum, Is A Judicial Decision On Which Knight Marquis De Boulainvilliers Explains That The Case Was Heard Between December 1778 And February 1779, And States That 'Sieur Deslez' Has Been Sentenced To Pay To 'Sieur Duclos' The Sums Reported And This Certified By The King'S Counselor At The Chatelet. Signed At The Base Of The Document By Fouquier-Tinville In His Capacity As Procurator Attached To The Chatelet. An Early Signature Form Including The "De" Which Fouquier-Tinville Would Later Remove During The Revolution. With Several Countersignatures. To The Verso A Hand Written Text Corresponding To The Judicial Court Decision, Referring To Procurator Antoine Quentin Fouquier De Tinville, With Two More Signatures, Dated 29Th April 1779. Heavy Fold To The Center Not Affecting Fouquier-Tinville'S Signature. Overall Age Wear And Creasing.
