Lot 891: Bothe Walther: (1891-1957) German Nuclear Physicist, Nobel Prize Winner For Physics, 1954 (Shared With Max Born). A Good T.L.S., Bothe, One Page, 4To, Heidelberg (Although Currently In Speyerershof Hospital), 12Th November 1954, To The Nobel Foundation, On The Printed Stationery Of The Max Planck Institute, In German. Bolthe Thanks The Gentlemen Of The Foundation For Their Communication And Remarks 'It Is A Great Honour For Me To Be Awarded This Year'S Nobel Prize For Physics Along With Max Born', Continuing To Add 'For Your Book "Les Prix Nobel", I Am Sending Along With This Letter A Photograph, Together With A Short Biography' (Neither Present). Bothe Further Writes 'I Am In Hospital For A Major Operation, And Must Stay Here For Some Time. Therefore, I Am Afraid I Won'T Be Able To Send The Text Of My Nobel Lecture Immediately. I Apologise Sincerely For This, And Will Complete It As Soon As I Can'. A Letter Of Good Content And Association. With An Official Date Stamp Of The Nobel Foundation At The Head And Several Ink And Red Indelible Pencil Annotations. Four File Holes To The Left Edge, Not Affecting The Text Or Signature.
