Lot 884: American blues musician and songwriter (1925–1976) notable for bringing his distinctive style of blues to mainstream audiences. DS, one page, 8.5 x 11, November 27, 1957. Standard American Federation of Musicians contract between Reed and Vee Jay Records, Inc., for a recording session to be held at Universal Recording Studio in Chicago. Signed at the conclusion in ballpoint by Reed and countersigned by Vee-Jay cofounder James Bracken. Also bears several large ink and pencil office notations.
