Lot 753: British novelist, playwright, and journalist (1875–1932) who produced popular detective and suspense stories. TLS, one page both sides, 6.25 x 8, personal letterhead, January 18, 1930. Letter to Mr. Lambert, in part: "I find it necessary to centralise all my theatrical and publishing interests under one roof, and this new arrangement necessitates the conclusion of my very pleasant business relationship with Mr. M. Barry O'Brien, for whom—I would like to place on record—I have the highest personal regard. Mrs. Wallace, who has been in control of the Wyndham's Theatre production of 'The Calendar,' will in future have the financial and managerial control of the tours, the plays being presented by myself."
