Lot 745: Partly-printed DS, signed "Nath'l Hawthorne," one page both sides, 8.25 x 12.75, February 16, 1855. As consul of the United States at the port of Liverpool, Hawthorne confirms the accuracy of a certificate in which James McHenry describes the cargo of his vessel as "nine hundred and thirty two Barrels of Flour." The paper seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. Expected document wear with an area of paper loss to the upper right and mounting remnants to upper corners of the opposing side, otherwise fine condition.
