Lot 433: Hilton James: (1900-1954) English Novelist Of Goodbye Mr Chips (1934). T.L.S., James Hilton, One Page, 8Vo (Neatly Trimmed To The Base, Apparently Without Any Loss Of Text), En Route From Chicago To Hollywood, 9Th December 1935, To Mr. Muschamp, On The Printed Stationery Of The Chief. Hilton Thanks His Correspondent For Their €˜Delightful Tribute’ On His Radio Talk And Remarking €˜Â€¦You Are Right, I Am Sure, In Suggesting That Mr. Chips Would Have Enjoyed New York As Much As I Did’. Together With Robert Donat (1905-1958) English Actor, Starred In The Film Goodbye Mr. Chips (1939) For Which He Won An Academy Award For Best Actor. Vintage Signed 5 X 7 Photograph Of Donat In A Head And Shoulders Pose. Signed In Blue Fountain Pen Ink With His Name Alone To The Image, Partially Across A Darker Area Although Reasonably Legible.
