Lot 344: Two items: a hardcover edition of The Story of My Life, later printing, NY: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1934, signed and inscribed on the first free end page in fountain pen, "Inscribed to Lucile A. Vogel, With the kind regards of Clarence Darrow, Dec. 14th 1935"; and an ALS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Greeley Gas and Fuel Company letterhead, August 11, 1925, in part: "I have never been much of an accumulator of money and I have…enough to make me fairly comfortable…I am obliged to be fairly frugal…Still I know you and want to be of some service to you and will help you moderately say up to $500 if you need it as I presume you do." Includes the original mailing envelope addressed in Darrow's hand. In overall very good condition, with completely separated intersecting folds repaired with tape to reverse of the letter (not affecting the signature), and blocks of toning from affixed newspaper clippings inside the book (affecting the signature and inscription).
