Lot 312: La Fontaine Jean De: (1621-1695) French Fabulist & Poet, Known For His Fables. An Extremely Rare D.S., De La Fontaine, One Page, 8Vo, N.P., 28Th September 1656, In French. The Boldly Penned Holograph Document Is A Receipt In Which The Poet Acknowledges The Receipt Of 'Thirty Three Silver Coins' Worth Of Mixed Woods To Use During Year One Thousand Six Hundred And Fifty-Seven, With Sixty-Six Pounds Paid For My Entry And Exit Rights' From Claude Lamblet, Residing In Igny, And Further Stating 'I Hold Him Good For The Thirty-Three Silver Coins And All The Rest'. With Integral Leaf Bearing A Few Ink Calculations In An Unidentified Hand. Three Neat Ink Annotations At The Head Of The Page And A Red Circular Stamp To A Clear Area Of The Lower Half Of The Page.
