Lot 289: Forster E.M.: (1879-1970) English Novelist. A.L.S., E M Forster, On One Side Of A Printed Correspondence Card, King'S College, Cambridge, 29Th June 1959, To Professor Alan Warner. Forster States That He Has Just Returned From Italy To Find His Correspondent'S Letter And Remarks 'You Are Most Welcome To Quote - Arnolds (Forster'S Publisher) Might Be Mentioned Too'. He Further Adds That He Is Pleased Warner'S Tour Went Well And Also Sends His Best Wishes Before His Next Departure In Case He Doesn'T See Him ('Which I Hope I May Do'). Hand Addressed By Forster To The Verso. A Few Pencil Annotations, Presumably In Warner'S Hand, Would Indicate That Forster Was Allowing His Correspondent To Quote From The Essay Does Culture Matter?
