Lot 285: Member of the House of Habsburg (1503–1564) who ruled as Holy Roman Emperor from 1558 until his death, a reign characterized by conflict with the Ottoman Empire and wars of religion between Catholics and Protestants. Vellum manuscript DS in German, signed "Ferdinand," one page, 21.5 x 16.5, no date. Untranslated. Intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature), a few small holes along lower fold, and some slight staining, otherwise fine condition.
