Lot 280: British radio astronomer (born 1924) who won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1974 for his work on the development of radio aperture synthesis and its role in the discovery of pulsars. Interesting handwritten scientific notes and calculations, one page, 8.25 x 11, signed along the bottom in ink, "Some pulsar calculations during work carried out a few years ago. Antony Hewish, 3.1.1980." In fine condition, with a central horizontal fold. Accompanied by the address panel from the original mailing envelope.
