Lot 229: Ravel Maurice: (1875-1937) French Composer. An Unusual Autograph Envelope Signed ('Ravel') In The Return Address, Addressed In The Composer'S Hand To Madame Fernand Dreyfus In Paris. Signed By Ravel In The Lower Left Corner In His Capacity As A Military Lorry Driver. Post Marked At Paris To The Verso, The Date Only Partially Legible, And With A Circular Convois Automobile - Services Postal Stamp To The Recto, Only Very Slightly Affecting Part Of The Address. Some Very Light, Minor Age Wear, Otherwise Vg Madame Fernand Dreyfus - Mother Of Alexis Roland-Manuel (1891-1966) French Composer & Critic, A Pupil, Friend And Biographer Of Ravel. Ravel Had Joined The Thirteenth Artillery Regiment As A Lorry Driver In March 1915.
