Lot 2008: Incredible black leather-bound Air France 1964-65 date booklet, 2.5 x 4.25, signed and inscribed on separate dates in blue ballpoint, "George Harrison" and "John Lennon, to Elizabeth, X," red ballpoint, "Ringo Starr," who adds a star below, and in black felt tip, "To Elizabeth, Love, Paul McCartney, XXX." In fine condition, with scattered wear and scuffing to book covers, and trivial wear to textblock edges. Accompanied by letters of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo and Perry Cox, as well as a letter of provenance from the original recipient and owner of the date book, Elisabeth Rosner, in part (translated): "I...certify that the little Air France booklet was signed by the 4 Beatles in the Europe 1 studio in February, 1964 when they were interviewed by Daniel Filipacchi for the radio show 'Salut les copains.'" Autographed just days before the band would depart for their historic first visit to the United States, this tremendous signed booklet is enhanced further still by its uncommon format and cast of crisp signatures.
