Lot 18: Michael Faraday handwritten signed letter

British physicist and chemist (1791–1867) best known for his development of the first dynamo and the discovery of electromagnetic induction. ALS signed “M. Faraday,” one page, 4.5 x 7, blindstamped Royal Institute of Great Britain letterhead, April 29, 1862. Letter to James Melvill, in part: "I beg to acknowledge the receipt of the second part of the publication…and to return my sincere thanks for the kindness which has sent it to me." In fine condition.
