Lot 144: Author: London, Jack. Title: Typed Letter, signed, to Mrs. Zell Hart Demming regarding his biography and sociological writings. Place Published: Sydney, Australia. Date Published: 3289. Description: Two page typed letter, signed, on stationery of the Hotel Metropole, Sydney, dated January 1, 1909. 20x13 cm (8x5") folded. London writes a Mrs. Zell Hart Deming of the Tribune Publishing Co, Cheyenne, Wyoming informing her of where to obtaining biographical information about himself and suggesting: "If you are interested in my sociological writings, as apart from my fiction, I can suggest the following books, all of which are published by the Macmillan Co. The War of the Classes, The People of the Abyss, The Road, and The Kempton-Wace Letters." Signed by London at the close and with his Glen Ellen address in rubberstamp on the first page, the original mailing envelope is present. Creased from mailing, envelope lacking flap and with some loss at top edge; letter near fine.
