Lion Heart Autographs is a company that buys and sells autographs and manuscripts, based in New York City.
The company was founded in 1978 by David Lowenherz.
Mr. Lowenherz is a member of the Universal Autograph Collector's Club, The Manuscript Society, the Grolier Club, and co-founder, first president, and current Treasurer of PADA (Professional Autograph Dealer’s Association).
In addition to buying and selling, Mr. Lowenherz also authenticates and appraises letters and manuscripts for income tax and estate purposes. Past appraisals have been performed for The New York Times, Carnegie Hall, the songwriter Paul Simon, the Irving Berlin and George Gershwin estates, and the estates of Leonard Bernstein and Martha Graham.
Mr. Lowenherz is also the author of The 50 Greatest Love Letters of All Time and The 50 Greatest Letters from America’s Wars. His books have been featured on the BBC’s World Service, WNYC’s The Next Big Thing, Publisher’s Weekly, Library Journal, The Kansas City Star, Esquire Magazine, People Magazine, the Associated Press, The Edmonton Journal, The Toronto Star, and USA Today.
